Personal Information:

Pooja has been living in Gosavi Vasti, Hadapsar, for the last 11 years. She lives with her husband, one daughter, and one son. Her husband works as an office boy in the MIDC industrial area.

Problem:

Pooja studied up to the 8th standard. She wanted to continue her education, but her father passed away at that time. Due to her family’s poor financial condition, she was unable to continue her studies and dropped out of school. Eventually, she got married because of family pressure.

After marriage, she worked as a maid for five years and later got a job as a receptionist at a dental clinic. However, she was eventually asked to leave the job because she could not perform her duties properly due to her limited education.

Support:

During this period, teachers from Samruddhi were conducting home visits to mobilize students for support classes and 10th standard education. Pooja met one of the teachers, who encouraged and motivated her to continue her education. As a result, she enrolled in the 10th standard support class through the Open Education system.

Impact:

In 2016, Pooja started attending Samruddhi’s 10th standard support classes. Through hard work and determination, she scored 53% in her 10th standard examination in 2017.

After successfully passing the 10th standard, she enrolled in the 11th standard at Ambedkar College in 2018. She is now studying in the 12th standard and pursuing an MCVC vocational course at Ambedkar College.

Through higher education, Pooja has become more confident and ambitious about her future and her family’s well-being.
