Jyoti Gona Shinde, Case study
My name is Jyoti Gona Shinde. I have been living in Vaiduwadi, Hadapsar, for the past 35 years. My family consists of my parents-in-law, my husband, and our four children.
I previously worked with IHMP, which gave me valuable work experience. However, I left the job three years ago because I have two sets of young twins, making it difficult for me to work outside the home for eight hours a day. Since then, I have been looking for a part-time job that would allow me to balance my family responsibilities.
I was interviewed for an opportunity to work with Bandhu, and I was happy to join. In the beginning, I found the Bandhu app quite difficult to learn because it involved many steps. I made many mistakes initially, and I started doubting whether I would be able to do the work at all. Since I had no prior experience with online work, I was afraid that I might not succeed.
The Mashal team supported and guided me throughout the learning process. By working closely with them for about 8 to 10 days, I gained confidence and learned how to use the app effectively. Once I understood all the steps, I started enjoying the work and carried it out with great enthusiasm.
Initially, I could upload only four to five houses per hour on the Bandhu app. I found the app’s complete onboarding cycle especially challenging. However, with continuous practice, I gradually mastered the entire process.
One of the biggest advantages of working with Bandhu was the flexibility. There were no strict working hours, so I was able to take care of my children and manage my household while continuing to work. The fear I had about online work completely disappeared. I also received great support from people in my community, and I was always willing to travel anywhere within my area to complete the work.
Compared to other part-time jobs, this work provided a much better income, which made me very satisfied. I earned ₹3,500 in my first month. As I continued working and improved my performance, my monthly earnings increased to between ₹25,000 and ₹27,000.
With this income, I was able to pay my elder children’s school fees. During the same period, my younger daughter had to be admitted to the hospital, and I was able to cover all her medical expenses using the money I earned through this work.
I am truly grateful to Mashal for giving me this opportunity and for believing in me. Their support not only helped me earn an income but also gave me the confidence to learn new digital skills and become financially independent.
Thank you!
