MASHAL’s Executive Director, Mr. Nilesh Karkare, along with representatives from partner NGOs, recently met the Latur District Collector to discuss the proposed rehabilitation of flood-affected families from Hasnal and Ravangaon villages.

Both villages were severely affected by the Lendi River floods on 18 August 2025, damaging homes, livelihoods, farmland and essential infrastructure. Around 248 vulnerable families—including widows, women-headed households, landless labourers, senior citizens and persons with disabilities—require safe and permanent housing support.

During the meeting, the delegation presented a community-centred rehabilitation proposal focused on constructing affordable, disaster-resilient homes with essential water, sanitation and electricity facilities. The discussion also highlighted the importance of government coordination, transparent beneficiary selection, CSR partnerships, quality construction and community participation.

MASHAL and its partners remain committed to working closely with the administration, Gram Panchayats, communities and CSR organisations to help affected families rebuild their lives with safety, dignity and renewed hope.
